Fis and Infront in La Thuile for summer inspection

In La Thuile, the season of mountain biking and hiking in the midst of nature has just begun, but the organisation of the Alpine Skiing World Cup, which will return in the 2024/2025 competitive season with the women's downhill and super-G races scheduled for Friday 14 and Saturday 15 March 2025, has also already started.

The first FIS (International Ski and Snowboard Federation) inspection took place today (Thursday), useful for defining the starting areas of the two races, the technical details concerning the ‘3-Franco Berthod’ slope, the areas and premises that will serve as support for the event, such as the TV compound, race office, media centre and ski room.

The traditional summer inspection was attended by Peter Gerdol (Chief Race Director World Cup), Alberto Senigagliesi (Race Director World Cup Speed Events), Andreas Krönner (Director of Race Operations) and Giulia Candiago (Media Coordinator) representing the FIS, Massimo Rinaldi for the Italian Winter Sports Federation (FISI) and a delegation from Infront, the company that holds the television rights and will effect the television production of the event. Also present on the slope of La Thuile, already the scene of the World Cup in 2016 and 2020, was director Sandro De Manincor, who together with the team identified and defined the points where the cameras will be positioned.

A positive and very important confrontation between the Organising Committee, FIS, Fisi and Infront to define the planning of the coming months and the activities to be carried out, starting from the experience of the two previous editions.

In the meantime, in the last few weeks the organising committee has taken shape and is now defined and operational. The role of president will once again be held by Marco Mosso, current president of the Asiva Committee, the vice-president will be Dante Berthod, brother of Franco, after whom the race track is named, while the general manager remains Corrado Giordano, who holds the same position for Funivie Piccolo San Bernardo. Daniele Collomb will be the race director, Corrado Garino the track director.

The Women's Alpine Skiing World Cup stage is an extraordinary international showcase for the entire Aosta Valley, which believes in major sporting events as a means of promoting the region.
