La Thuile passes FIS snow control

La Thuile has also passed the last inspection with flying colours, now the countdown to the return of the Women's Alpine Ski World Cup, scheduled between 11 and 15 March, has really begun. The FIS, with its technician in charge Jean-Philippe Vuillet, has carried out the usual snow inspection on slope 3-Franco Berthod, which is in excellent condition: examination passed, green light for the last races that will precede the Finals in Sun Valley. The Aosta Valley resort will host for the third time the best sprinters in the world, who will compete on one of the most difficult and challenging tracks of the entire circuit.

In the meantime, technicians have been on the track for days to continue setting up the safety nets and installing the television stations. Since Wednesday, snow preparation work has also begun: in the upper part of the slope, two snow groomers hooked up with a winch have facilitated the injection of water into the ground, which, combined with the grooming, will make for a more compact surface.

Corrado Garino, slope director: ‘All the work is proceeding according to schedule, the specialised technicians are continuing with the installation of the technological and safety infrastructures required by the international federation. With the stadium now almost completed, we are ready for safety and the assembly of the air mattresses. From Tuesday we will enter the last phase that will take us towards the three competitions'.
